特快行邮专列是全国铁路第五次大提速而推出的货运新产品，最高运行速度达到每小时160公里，相当于直达特快旅客列车的等级标准。行邮专列有快速、准时、安全的特点。车厢全封闭，全程不停站，不卸货，直到终点站。
行包快运专列是按照旅客列车运输方式组织,使用专用货车编组，利用行包基地和客、货运站场、设备，整列装载包裹等小件货物的列车，分为跨铁路局和局管内的行包专列。行包专列运输以铁道部公布的快速行邮专列运输时限为准，站到站服务方式，按合同约定价格执行，提供整车、整列包租服务；定点（装卸地点）、定线、定车次，每日定时开行。根据客户需求有偿提供仓储、取货，送货及装卸等服务。
